When
you buy a product and it has a plug and go webpage with testimonials,
Do you...
A) take the testimonials out of the page.
B) leave the tesimonials in.
C) contact the person that wrote the testimonial and get their permission
to use their testimonial for that page on your site (as if they wrote
it for you).
I am curious too see what everybody thinks about this.
Kennon
I'll
leave it in since I have some degree of knowledge of the
person.
Kennon :)
PS- AND, as I believe I've mentioned before, I do sometimes
contact people via the reference information left with their
testimonials on a web page.

Hi
Roy
Like Kennon I would leave the testimonial in.
I believe that the person who wrote the testimonial in the first place
is doing so as praise for the product and to help get a little publicity
for his/her website.
My feelings therefore would be that they wouldn't mind their testimonial
getting a little more exposure.
This begs the question reference earnings disclaimers and privacy
notices etc that you see at the foot of pages. A lot of these seem
to have been created personally for the website owner. If they are
included on the webpage that is sent to you, do you include them as
well - leaving the link back to the originators website?
Cheers

Hey
Neil,
Great question.
Depending on what rights you have with
the page you could plug in your affiliate
link to the originator's website.
If your website disclaimer and privacy
policies are different then you'd have to
change their(originator's) notices. Gotta'
protect yourself.
It may be a good idea to weed out the
not-so-good(weak) testimonials.
Would adding your own testimonial be
somewhat cheesy? :)

Yoon,
I've added my own testimonial for promoting the Headline Creator
Pro software at this page:

See what you think. Is that cheesy?

I
would confirm with the person providing the plug and go webpage that
I had permission to use the testimonials. Then I
would look over each testimonial.... evaluating what effect it likely
has on the sales process. I would keep the testimonials that I considered
effective if I had permission but would likely add some of my own
later.
