I
was wondering what sales messages, first that you can't resist reading,
and then the messages that you can't resist buying?
For me, stories are the biggest hook. If it looks like the author is going to tell me an interesting story, I'll keep reading, even if I know it's a sales pitch. So, that's my what makes me "have to read"
The sales message that makes me "have to" buy is one where they present a very exciting claim, and then back it up with proof, and then offer me a guarantee on top of that. It's really hard for me to turn down an offer like that. It doesn't look like they're lying and if they are, I've got the money back guarantee as a back up.
For example, "The Whole Truth" product, sorry if that's not exactly it. He showed the scans fo the checks, which is less and less compeling, however still compelling. And, he showed actual examples of listings where he had got the search engine listings that he was claiming. Of course he had a guarantee as well.
Another offer that's really hard for me to turn down, is what Louis did. He showed me the value of the products, then said, here try it out for a buck. It was a no brainer. I wasn't taking a risk (well a buck, and even that I'm ok with losing). Louis was taking all the risk himself. Although that had to be coupled with a set of good products, and the affiliate program is what made me stick around, as well as the products.
I'd love to hear other peoples thoughts on my examples, and more examples of those really hard to resist offers/headlines/etc. If you really think about it, some offers just stand out. I'd like to figure out what makes that happen. Wouldn't we all!
