Kennon
Hi IPTers,

I'd like your input on headlines for my site.

My current headline reads...

"How Would You Like To Have Proof That Hosting Your Own Teleseminars Can Be The Single Most Powerful Way To Generate Income...And Then Be Able To Learn The Basics Every Successful Teleseminar Host Should Know?"

Now I'm considering a different one...

"Secrets to Getting a Sitting Ovation" or...
"Whoever Heard Of A Sitting Ovation?"

Obviously the key is to test. I'd like thoughts from readers here
as well.

Your feedback on this will be appreciated.

Kennon :)

Louis
My initial thoughts are that they're a little confusing since rather than focusing on the message I get stuck on "What's a sitting ovation?"

In my mind it also doesn't put forward strong benefits. However, it's possible I'm not in your target market so that could be why.

This is just an opinion after all though. If your visitors place orders, then that speaks for itself.

A tactic I've been told about that works well for me when constructing headlines is thinking "If I had unlimited powers and could give my visitor the absolute biggest possible benefits my product could give someone, what would they be?"

I then turn the answer from that question into a *believable* headline using generally a standard format:

"How To ..."
"Finally - ..."
"Discover ..."
"Discover How To ..."
"Here's How To ..."
etc.

Kennon
Thanks for that feedback, Louis. I really like that idea on how to
generate a headline. Fantastic!

I wonder if anyone here can guess who suggested the new
headline for me in a 5 minute phone conversation.

And the reason I think that headline was suggested was related
to creating curiosity in the reader's mind.

Hey Kennon!

Guess who?

Well, as for your headline, "I" usually like to stick
with shorter headlines...

I also like to use a general format...

I have found something...

"Revealed!
"Secrets
"Discover...

All these work because it makes the person think
they are about to learn something that no one knows...

At least that's my 2 cents!

The Anik

Kennon
Thanks, Anik. Now I'm 2 cents richer! :laugh2:
