Hi Louis,

I've been creating some Camtasia Flash videos and I'm stumped with something.

How do you keep your file size so small?

For example: Your 99Minutes4 Video 1 is under 10 MB and is almost 20 minutes long.

I just did a video and it's just under 10 MB, but it's only 9 minutes long.

What's your secret? I've tried everything in Camtasia to try to make the file size smaller and I can't figure it out.

Right now I have the following settings...

Frame Rate: 10
Audio: MP3; 22,050kHz Mono 24kBits/sec
Colors: True Color 32bit
Video size: 640 x 480

Any suggestions?

Thank you!
Karol Gajda

Hi Karol

I've included screen shots of the exact settings I use in the following thread:

http://www.infoprofitstalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=250

It's worth noting that the length of the video is not the only thing that affects the final size of the file.

What I've also noticed is that the more screen activity there is, the larger the file.

For example - if during a 10 minute video it's mostly talking with just the Desktop displayed, that will be smaller than a 10 minute video where I'm browsing through lots of web sites.

Great! Thanks Louis!

Hi,

This weekend i came across this site.

http://www.ezinefire.com/Home/

i joined and they had a special deal with this site

http://www.the-best-deal-ever.official.ws/

The deal was to get the whole offer for around $30

Definately worth getting, its taking me all day just to download the carbon copy marketing stuff in package one on a company network. Still havent finished and there are 9 packages at least.

Included in one of the packages is Camstudio.

I think it produces AVI's but for a free AVI to flash converter go here
http://www.blue-pac.com/welcome.htm

I have also used this s/w to produce images to convert to movies
Billed as Turkey best kept secret
http://www.sofotex.com/Bulents-Screen-Recorder-download_L11031.html

Search for Bulents screen recorder if link is broken

Excellant program

Hope this helps for those on a tight budget.

Hi Rob

Thanks very much for this info. I'll have a good look at those.

I generally use Camtasia but it's not the cheapest of software. I've heard good things about Hypercam too and I believe that sells for around $30.
