Hey
IPTers,
I'm starting a thread here for people to share what are their
greatest, most favorite ways to generate traffic to your sites.
Let me ask this... what has been your most effective traffic
generation strategy?
*SEO
*PPC
*Joint Ventures
*Article Publishing
*???
What is it? And what is the quality of the traffic?
Thanks,
Kennon :)

Hi
Kennon,
For me free search engine listings bring incredible
quality traffic. It far surpasses anything else I do.
Second would be my own ezine list.
Third would be links from inside my own ebooks.
Then PPC search engines.
I haven't been very consistent at the other things you mentioned
but I know others do well with them.
Another big winner (not my best but definitely for others) is
a good affiliate program.
Forum traffic from the signature left in messages has also been good.
Thanks
Allan

Hi Allan
I have noticed this about your site. Almost consistently I get Reprint-Rights-Marketing.com
returned in the top 10 listings in Google for the term "reprint
rights". And I've seen that for a good few months.

Thanks for sharing, Allan. As for forum traffic, I was just watching
a video of Yanik Silver talking about this. He said that while being
active on forums will help generate traffic, it is not the best. What
forum activity is most helpful for is building your credibility.
As for my niche of teleseminars, I don't have a whole bunch of
searches that I'm aware of where people are looking for it. So, I
am needing more creativity to drive consistently to that site.
Again, I appreciate your contribution.

Hello
My Friends,
My favorite traffic generator has been advertising and/or writing
articles in newsletters targeted toward my niche.
My second favorite would have to be off-line advertising within my
niche.
My third would be PPC Search Engines, specifically Overture.com.

Hi
Vondre,
Could you share where you advertise offline?
I think this is an area most of us neglect.
I know in my niche there are many Work at Home magazines
down here in Australia that I can (should be) advertising in.
Actually I once was writing articles for them and this is something
people should consider doing.
It works just like writing an article on the web. Just submit your
article to the editor of the magazine before the publishing
cut off date and at the bottom of the article leave your contact
details exactly the same as a sig file.
Usually inside the front section of the magazine it has editor details
and an address to submit articles.
Thanks
Allan

Hello
Allen,
I advertise in USA Today on the weekend for my sellcomputersliikecrazy.com
site. The ad usuallruns a little over $200, but it brings me back
anywhere from $500 - $1500 profit. Plus I get a minimum of 200 people
join my newsletter.
For the cake business, I advertise in several special interest cake
newsletters and magazines.
I utilize the services on http://www.wolfadvertising.net on a regular
basis. They even have card decks that work really good too.
I hope this helps the person looking to start an off-line campaign.
Good Success!

Thanks
for those tips, guys. I'm wondering if Vondre would share
some thoughts about us getting a deal where we do an ad co-op
such that we each sell a segment of the advertising to someone
else and thus get our own portion for free or even in there while
gaining a profit.
Kennon:)

Hello
Kenon,
These type co-op advertising programs have been done before, but you
would have to have a group of dedicated people who are interested
in selling space on a full page or even a card deck.
If you're very busy like me, it would be very difficult.
I'm curious. How many people would be interested in this type of joint
venture?

Hi

To give you some feedback from my business:

I'm looking more and more seriously at this, for I feel if nothing
else the internet will always need good niche content, and people
will always use the search engines to look for that content.
Plus of course, if a content site is good enough people will simply
link to it as a useful resource.
It's more of a long term thing though I feel. I'm not a SEO expert
by any stretch of the imagination but I'm following the advice Neil
Shearing shares that got his site in the top 10 in Google for very
popular phrases ("home business" for one) for years:
Have your site around for a long time. Have lots of links in. Have
lots of good content.
And (in theory) the search engine rankings should then take care of
themselves if you're patient.
*Joint Ventures
This worked very well for giving my membership site a kickstart.
Between Paul Hartunian, Phil Wiley, and Jim Cockrum they pulled in
several hundred trial members during the space of a couple of months,
leading to a fairly solid membership base.
And for your interest, here's a link to one of Joe Robson's new offers
where he's working with JV partners in a very personalised way:
http://www.headlinemastercourse.com/phil.htm
And Joe tells me that the $20 reduction on the price has a very definite
expiration date, so bear that in mind if you might be interested in
taking advantage of that offer.
*Article Publishing
This really is something I neglect, but everyone I speak to who uses
this has nothing but positive things to say about submitting articles.
Plus of course it builds link popularity.
Once I've got a nice collection of articles written I'm going to give
Steve Shaw's service a go:
http://www.SubmitYourArticle.com
*???
Affiliate program, and links in high quality viral eBooks. They work
well. :)

Amen to that. PPC is also excellent for getting sign-ups.
I offer an appropriate freebie for new subscribers and the CTR on
Google Ads has been excellent.
I've got a new article called, "The Ultimate Search Engine Strategy"
coming out on Monday. It won't be available for reprint for another
six weeks, but I'll post it in the Article section when it is.
Kennon
Louis,
Thanks for sharing. I'll have to try that article service sometime
soon.

Hi
all,
I have been watching and reading this discussion with interest.
From my own experience over the last couple of months:
* A good search engine listing is clearly the ultimate prize - but
there are ways of leveraging of others and as Louis notes this is
something you simply work on.
* Mailings to my own list.
* A give away product in an area of interest which can be passed around;
(However, better to ask for something rather than simply give it away
- aka tie it to you list.)
* Articles - people will link back and by posting you do generate
some traffic; and,
* Forums - but more to develop a reputation.
Trusting these comments are of some value.
Kind regards,

Ken,
It is a great article submission service. I actually use 2 different
services since I write so many articles. Steve recently lowered
his price and when I signed up he had a special where you
could try the service for only $1.

Search
engine results are a great way to get more traffic of course. Google's
spiders jumpr from URL to URL so having a link on other people's sites
is the key. E.g. http://www.thecollective-europe.com

Kennon,
I sell local and long distance telephone service for Z-Tel Communications.
By far the greatest number of hits to my website were accomplished
by my Google Adword ad.
Unfortunately, it was very expensive and I had to cancel the ads.
I am now looking for a more reasonable way to advertise.

Hello
My Friends,
As marketers online or offline, we have to consistently to things
to bring us prospects. On the internet, we have to drive traffic to
our sites.
Recently, I wrote a special report about incredible strategies I've
learned from watching the hit reality show. "The Apprentice."
It is a Free report that includes a few links for some of my successful
information products.
I'll let you guys know how it goes.
I posted it today, and so far, I've had 17 downloads in under an hour
and 8 new people sign up to my newsletter.
You can check out the report for yourself at http://www.nicheformula.com/apprentice.html

As
with many others I get good results from search engine listings....Google
gives me the most traffic.
I also seem to get quite a bit of traffic from Forums that I post
in. I don't do a ton of posting in forums but I checked my site statistics
the other day and there are a couple forums, in particular, that are
in the top 10 for traffic this month.
Writing articles is another good traffic generator for me. I have
only written a few so far but one of them was published in Site Pro
News earlier this month. That brought quite a bit of traffic. I guess
a lot of people must read that newsletter.
For some reason PPC's don't bring me many visitors. It seems like
most people get good results with them but I haven't been able to
at all. I must be doing something wrong but can't figure out what
it is.
