Hello
everyone, looking for a little info on web stats.
I am wondering if most of you run your own script or use a third party?
Thanks

At the moment I've just been using what my hosting company provides
which is Webalizer.
To my knowledge, on most servers pretty much all traffic information
is recorded. What stats programs do is actually analyse all that and
turn it into something that is readable.
You'll find many free scripts at:
http://www.hotscripts.com
And I haven't used it myself yet, but I've heard *very* positive things
about:

Another similar service is:

We
use our hosting service web stats. If this is available to you and
you are like us (conseving server space) this is a pretty good option.
Besides we are novices and are learning as we go.

Traffic
stats based on your logs can actually be less reliable than third
party tracking.
I use http://www.opentracker.net, their pricing is pretty competitive
and their range of stats is impressive. What we've learned from the
stats in helping us tweak the site and learn where to put ads, etc
has more than paid for the subscription.
