Hello
everyone.
I am looking at doing some affiliate promoting but i am not sure the
best way of doing it.
I would like to promote a large amount of affilate programs but i
am not sure if i should just host the mini site on one of my other
sites , as a subdomain, or put it on its own domain.
I would guess that its own domain would be best but that would be
alot of domains to look after ..... your options would be appricitatd.
thanks

Hi Jamie
My first question would be - how are you going to promote them?
And actually -- I've come to the following conclusions:
Rather than generically promoting an affiliate link, I would suggest
promoting an affiliate link that solves the problem your visitor has
at that moment.
As a successful example:
Yanik Silver's "33 Days To Online Profits" product has an
action plan for getting people profiting online.
To realise that action plan and achieve what they want to achieve,
the reader has to sign up to services/tools through Yanik's affiliate
links.
Yanik said that worked much more effectively than just putting links
in and hoping people will click on them.
And I actually promote *very* few affiliate links. I only promote
things I use myself, truly believe in, and then I just promote them
consistently and hard.
All I've really done for affiliate links is use meta tag redirects.
For example:
www.domain.com/affiliatelink
And then in the "affiliatelink" folder you just have an
index.html file which automatically redirects through your affiliate
link.
Sincerely,
Louis

Thanks
for your info louis.
I have come to the conclusion that it depends on what kind of traffic
you are looking for .
If you are going to try and get se traffic it would be better to have
it in its own domain with its own pages.
If you are going to use a pay per click engine then i guess you might
as well just have it in a subfolder in one of your sites.
Does this sound right or am on the wrong track here ?

Sounds
good to me.
Your third option is to set up a domain that is just a redirect to
your affiliate link. You might want to use this in advertising (online
or offline), as a simple domain name is easier to remember than a
URL + page name.
Obviously you could make this domain a mini site (like you mentioned),
but in some cases there might be little point - especially if the
merchants site is well created.
Cheers,
Jason

Hi Jamie
One thing you might find useful (if you're not using it already) is
WordTracker:
http://www.wordtracker.com
Even just their free trial offers a wealth of information and reveals
niches you can potentially dominate.
