Hi
guys,
I've been thinking about changing the third party payment processor
I use (not because they're bad, but simply because third party shopping
carts don't support them), and I'm looking at 2CheckOut.
A web search has turned up mixed experiences with them. There are
some horror stories from a year or so ago, but other people have said
they have never had any problems with them.
So I'm wondering what people's experiences have been with them recently?
Any comments greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Jason

Hi
Jason,
While they are no longer my main processor I have used them a
lot in the past with absolutely no problems. Including the period
where you said there were some horror stories.
Payment transactions were always smooth and they always paid on time.
Thanks
Allan

Hi
Allan,
Thanks for that feedback. I've certainly found more good opinions
than bad in the searches I've done, but the few bad stories I've found
have been really bad.
Then again, you only ever hear one side of the story in such cases
:)
Any other feedback from people greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Jason

Hi
Jason
I can't give you any first hand feedback, but Joe Robson uses them
for the Newbie Club and has been happy with them.
Of course they don't have a built in affiliate program like ClickBank,
but they do charge a lower transaction fee. Around 5.5% I believe.
One issue I have heard about from them (perhaps this is different
now) - with a subscription through them, to cancel it the customer
had to ask 2CheckOut directly to cancel, rather than the cancellation
being an automatic process.
I always feel that a customer should entirely manage their own billing
subscription, since they are in fact the person being billed.
Joe also mentioned that 2CheckOut had a serious Denial Of Service
attack during much of late last year.
From what I remember this went on for around a month and during that
time VERY few orders were going through their system. However, I'm
pretty sure this issue is fully resolved now.
The same Denial Of Service issue also occurred with WorldPay, but
they resolved it very quickly and their systems were only down for
around a day or so.
Sincerely,
Louis
